Job summary

Sheehy Subaru of Hagerstown is seeking an Acquisition Specialist to focus on acquiring pre-owned vehicles directly from customers, leveraging various lead sources to identify opportunities. You will collaborate with sales managers to meet profit goals while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

Experience in automotive sales is not required; strong background in customer service, business development, or lead generation is valuable.

Qualifications

• Sales or customer service experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to learn and use data mining tools.
• Strong customer service, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Able to work Monday – Friday: 7:45 AM – 4:30 PM and some Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Welcome service customers and follow up by phone, email, and text.
• Offer complimentary appraisals and perform appraisals in VinCue.
• Collaborate with Used Car Manager on appraisals.
• Invite customers to view or test drive latest Subaru models.
• Identify acquisition opportunities across channels including online.
• Maintain CRM records of interactions and attempts.
• Prepare vehicle purchase paperwork for outright sales.
• Report acquisition results daily and weekly.

Acquisition Specialist

Sheehy Subaru of Hagerstown is seeking an Acquisition Specialist to join our team!

In this role, you will focus on acquiring pre-owned vehicles directly from customers, streamlining the process for both the dealership and the seller. You’ll leverage a variety of lead sources and data mining tools to identify acquisition opportunities, while collaborating closely with sales managers to achieve profit goals and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

• Welcome service customers in the lounge, and reach out by phone, email, and text to those who’ve dropped off their vehicle.
• Offer a complimentary appraisal to every service customer and perform appraisals as requested in VinCue (training provided).
• Collaborate with the Used Car Manager on appraisals.
• Invite customers to check out or test drive the latest Subaru models.
• Share the benefits of upgrading in a genuine, enthusiastic way that encourages a trade or outright sale.
• Uncover acquisition opportunities through every available channel, including online channels like Sheehy Buys Cars and CarGurus.
• Print daily handouts from the service ledger and partner with the service team on documentation flow.
• Distribute and manage Subaru Trade Up Advantage (STUA) program materials.
• Work additional STUA opportunities, including the Customer Engagement Report, lease-ends, and custom filters.
• Hand customers off to a sales consultant smoothly, so they never have to start the process over.
• Keep the experience consistent and welcoming from appraisal through a potential sale
• Complete vehicle purchase paperwork for outright sales.
• Keep accurate records of customer interactions and acquisition attempts in the CRM.
• Help create and maintain introductory videos explaining our services and process.
• Track and report acquisition results and success rates daily, weekly, and monthly in a shared Microsoft Excel document.

• Xtime and Subaru Care Connect to review and pre-plan next-day appointments.
• VinCue for completing vehicle appraisals.
• Access to repair order copies for key vehicle info and repair insights.
• An introductory email template that can be sent to upcoming service appointments introducing the Trade Up program.
• Point-of-sale posters and table toppers introducing you, our Vehicle Acquisition Specialist and the process.

Requirements:

• Sales or customer service experience (retail, restaurant, call center, etc.) preferred but not required—sales training provided
• Ability to learn and use data mining tools (eLeads experience a plus)
• Strong customer service, organizational, and relationship-building skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
• Outgoing personality with the ability to develop lasting relationships
• Driven, competitive, and collaborative team player
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Valid, clean, non-suspended driver’s license
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check, and drug screen
• Ability to work Monday – Friday: 7:45 AM – 4:30 PM and some Saturdays
