The GBS Group is seeking a hybrid Automation Systems Engineer who combines industrial control logic with modern software infrastructure. The role focuses on naval ship platforms, developing state-of-the-art machinery control systems and performing Linux configuration, networking, and on-board training.

The GBS Group has an exciting opportunity for a hybrid engineer who excels at the intersection of industrial control logic and modern software infrastructure. As a Automation Systems Engineer with GBS, you will work both independently and with a team of designers and engineers on complex projects related to Naval ship platforms. The position will develop and design state of the art machinery control systems for implementation aboard US Naval Vessels. This will include control logic (structured text), Linux operating system configuration, networking, troubleshooting, installation support and coordination. Direct training of ships personnel and support staff and life cycle support functions will be accomplished. This position will also contribute real value by developing future systems for HM&E Machinery Control Systems for U.S. Navy, Coast Guard, Army and Military Sealift Ships supported by the U.S. Navy.
Development of new and/or modification of existing control systems software and control logic with both analog and discrete I/O for U.S. Navy ships.
