Job summary

Corning Inc. in the United States is seeking a Manager in Systems Design to lead the development of next generation manufacturing equipment. You will supervise mechanical and mechatronics engineers, oversee prototypes, and ensure safe, reliable, and scalable solutions for high‑volume production.

Qualifications

• BS/ MS with required years of experience in mechanical/mechatronics design.
• Supervisory experience required and ability to lead technical teams.
• Strong CAD skills with 3D modeling and detailing expertise.
• Experience in innovation, design and new technologies.
• Ability to communicate requirements and design approaches across diverse teams.
• Knowledge of industrial controls and documentation practices.
• Proficiency with MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of mechanical and mechatronics engineers on prototype development.
• Collaborate with leaders and end-users to translate needs into equipment specs.
• Develop project technical strategies and lead multiple project teams.
• Generate, evaluate and select concepts based on engineering principles.
• Design, build and test prototypes and subsystems integrating multiple domains.
• Present design reviews and document novel designs and IP.
• Ensure safe, scalable, and manufacturable equipment for production.
• Travel up to 25%, typically in concentrated periods.
