Job summary

SMC Corporation is seeking a Sales Engineer in Spokane, WA to promote automation solutions, manage key accounts, and drive revenue growth through technical sales and relationship-building with decision-makers on-site at customer facilities.

You will present core and new products, maintain CRM records, and pursue opportunities across accounts while coordinating with the branch team and training initiatives to reach annual targets. Travel to customer sites is required.

Qualifications

• Completion of the SMC sales training program or equivalent sales and industry experience.
• Understanding of pneumatic components and their application.
• Knowledge of SMC policies and product lines (preferred).
• Knowledge of competitive product lines (preferred).
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in CRM and ability to learn new programs/tools as required.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Grow sales profitability by proactively managing targeted accounts.
• Meet or exceed annual growth expectations.
• Present and sell SMC core products and new released products to create value.
• Serve as the primary contact for assigned customer accounts and drive growth.
• Penetrate accounts by selling new/additional products and expanding locations.
• Develop relationships with key decision-makers within designated target accounts.
• Document sales calls, projects, opportunities, and leads in CRM.
• Develop and execute detailed customer action plans and forecast as required.
• Set and achieve sales targets, revenue quotas, and KPIs.
• Participate in training and mentoring of Sales Trainees when appropriate.
• Collaborate with Branch Manager/Sales Manager; drive outbound prospecting.
