Job summary

Cypress HCM is hiring a Software QA/Automation Engineer in California to design, implement, and maintain automated test suites across desktop, web, and cloud applications. Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in software test automation, quality engineering, or software development.
• Strong programming skills in Python, JavaScript, Java, C++, or similar languages.
• Experience developing and maintaining test automation frameworks, tools, and infrastructure.
• Proficiency using AI-assisted development tools to accelerate test development and debugging.
• Familiarity with SDLC, testing methodologies, and CI/CD practices.
• Strong debugging, root cause analysis, and defect-tracking skills.
• Familiarity with performance, scalability, reliability, and end-to-end testing.
• Experience testing desktop, web, and/or cloud-based applications.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Optional: Experience testing AI/ML-powered products or GenAI features.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, design, and research, to ensure the delivery of high-quality products.
• Develop and implement scalable test automation solutions to improve test coverage, reliability, and efficiency.
• Design, execute, and maintain automated tests for functional, integration, performance, and end-to-end scenarios.
• Create automation test plans and test cases from product requirements, technical designs, and user workflows.
• Diagnose defects, perform root cause analysis, and collaborate with developers to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
• Validate product quality across diverse platforms, operating systems, and deployment environments.
• Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines with automated testing and quality gates.
• Monitor quality metrics and test outcomes to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Drive innovation in test automation, tooling, and quality engineering best practices to increase team effectiveness and product quality.
