Job summary

NuAxis Innovations is seeking a Software Tester / QA Automation Engineer to own functional, integration, regression, accessibility, API, and performance validation for a modernized application. You will build and maintain automated testing with Cypress as a core framework and integrate quality gates into CI/CD pipelines.

The role requires 4+ years of QA experience, strong Cypress and API testing skills, and familiarity with Oracle data and authentication methods.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software QA/testing experience across web apps, REST APIs, data integration, and multi-tier systems.
• Hands-on experience designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks and reusable test suites.
• Strong Cypress experience for UI and API testing; JavaScript/TypeScript scripting required.
• Experience with API automation tools and CI/CD integration to enforce quality gates.
• Familiarity with DHS Trusted Tester, Section 508/WCAG testing, and secure SDLC controls.

Responsibilities

• Develop the overall test approach and maintain traceability from requirements to test cases and release evidence.
• Design and maintain Cypress automation for critical journeys, regression, and cross-browser tests.
• Create reusable test utilities, data management patterns, and stable selectors to reduce flaky tests.
• Automate REST API validation and combine API- and UI-level testing for end-to-end coverage.
• Integrate Cypress and other suites into CI/CD and configure reports, screenshots, and quality gates.
• Execute functional, integration, regression, smoke, and performance testing across UI, middleware, and data layers.
• Manage defects, triage, reproduction, and leakage, and coordinate with engineers and security.
• Publish sprint/release quality metrics and participate in refinement to define testability and nonfunctional needs.
