Job summary

Mission Design & Automation is seeking a Project Manager to make an impact on custom automation projects from kickoff to completion. You will coordinate people, schedules, budgets and requirements while keeping teams aligned and customers informed throughout the process.

You’ll lead cross-functional teams of engineers, designers, and machine builders, manage scope changes, risk analysis, and status updates. Travel to customer facilities may be required for installations and support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in technical field or related experience in automation.
• 5+ years of experience in the automation industry.
• 3+ years of experience in project management.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact between customers and internal project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead project teams through kickoffs, scope and engineering changes, scheduling, budget management, open issues, and risk analysis.
• Provide clear direction and facilitate collaboration between engineering, design, controls, fabrication, assembly, and other internal teams.
• Identify and anticipate project needs, resolve issues, and take action to keep projects on track.
• Monitor project schedules, budgets, milestones, and deliverables to ensure projects meet customer and company expectations.
• Prepare and communicate project status updates, proactively addressing and escalating critical concerns when needed.
• Support Business Development by providing project expertise related to timelines, costs, resources, and execution requirements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, internal teams, and project stakeholders through clear and consistent communication.
• Demonstrate strong leadership, organization, problem-solving, and attention to detail while managing multiple priorities.
• Take ownership of assigned projects, work independently, and drive projects through successful completion.
