Job summary

Axis Automation is looking for a career-oriented Project Manager to join a dynamic, tight-knit team creating custom factory automation equipment. You will lead projects from customer order through completion and coordinate cross-functional resources.

The role requires engineering expertise and 4+ years in automation, with budget responsibility and strong risk management, scheduling, and customer communication. Travel up to 10–20% annually is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or significant experience managing engineering projects.
• 4+ years of experience in automation or engineering services.
• 2+ years of project management with budget responsibility.
• Experience with tool design and welding applications preferred.
• Strong knowledge of project management best practices and processes.
• Proficient with Microsoft Teams and Excel; able to track timelines.
• Financial and analytical aptitude; highly organized; detail-oriented.
• Willingness to travel up to 10–20% annually.

Responsibilities

• Follow active equipment projects from customer order through completion.
• Assess project issues and identify solutions to meet customer, quality and cost goals.
• Review project requirements and identify scope changes.
• Execute to milestones and coordinate all necessary resources.
• Interact with suppliers and cross-functional teams to establish proposals.
• Lead, coach and motivate project team members.
• Prepare and communicate project status meetings and escalations.
• Manage customer relationships and requests.
• Real-time communication with Axis departments on project developments.
• Develop tools and best practices for project management and execution.
• Complete lessons learned evaluations to improve future projects.
• Travel to support milestones, meet customers, and support proposals.
