Job summary

Barry-Wehmiller is seeking a Sr. Project Engineer in Packaging to join our design group in the US. You will work with a team of industry experts to design and implement packaging solutions across varied industries, including pharmaceutical, food, and industrial.

The role requires deep experience in packaging equipment, strong problem-solving, and the ability to lead projects, manage budgets and schedules, and collaborate with vendors and clients. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in packaging solutions, mechanical design, and project engineering.
• Experience in Beverage, Food, Consumer Products, Pharmaceutical, or Industrial industries preferred.
• BS in Mechanical Engineering preferred; strong communication and leadership skills required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, assemble, and design packaging equipment for clients.
• Lead packaging and equipment projects across multiple industries.
• Identify and troubleshoot packaging problems and support maintenance to improve productivity.
• Design and develop packaging lines, budgets, schedules, and documentation.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors to implement automation solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement using standard tools (Change Control, ROI).
