Job summary

U.S. Sugar is seeking a maintenance technician to operate and maintain high-speed automated packaging equipment and related facilities. You will plan preventative maintenance, troubleshoot systems, and ensure safe operation while following CGMP practices and safety policies.

Working rotating shifts with overtime, you may train on site, pass pre-employment screening, and work in a controlled environment. Strong mechanical aptitude and English proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• Must be Ramsay qualified.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Pass a drug test and pre-employment background screening.
• Minimum 3 years of experience operating or maintaining moving/rotating equipment.
• Basic computer skills and aptitude for interpreting process graphics.
• Basic rigging skills including slings and chain-falls; welding/tacking as needed.
• Must read, write, and speak English to understand instructions and ensure safety.

Responsibilities

• Abide by all company policies and safety regulations.
• Complete training sessions and certifications related to the position.
• Plan and perform regular preventative maintenance using the computerized work order system.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair high-speed automated packaging equipment (labelers, palletizers, wrappers, bagging machines, metal detectors).
• Maintain safety equipment and tools; work with overhead cranes and lifting devices.
• Plan tasks with minimal supervision and apply CGMP and good housekeeping practices.
