Job summary

American Sugar Refining, Inc. in Chalmette, LA is seeking a No. 2 Auto Machine Mechanic to operate high-speed packaging equipment and assist the No. 1 AMM with maintenance in an industrial food facility, handling routine maintenance and complete breakdowns as needed.

The role requires 2+ years of maintenance experience on industrial equipment, proficiency with hand tools and shop equipment, and the ability to troubleshoot minor issues. Day shift with overtime flexibility and a $29.57 hourly rate.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of maintenance/mechanical experience on industrial equipment, preferably packaging.
• Experience with hand tools and shop equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues.

Responsibilities

• Operate high speed packing equipment.
• Perform minor repairs to packaging equipment.
• Follow safety, quality, and sanitation practices.
• Adjust automatic packaging equipment components such as bag tray, bag clamps, scales and palletizers.
• Inspect package closures and perform necessary adjustments.
• Execute other duties as assigned.
