Job summary

Magna Exteriors is seeking an Assembly Manufacturing Engineer to develop manufacturing processes for new programs, establish lean floor layouts, and lead transfer and startup activities.

You will mentor entry-level engineers, coordinate line installations, and drive improvements using AIAG Core Tools. A BS in engineering and 3–5 years in assembly manufacturing engineering are preferred; experience with robotics is a plus.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in engineering required.
• Experience in the Automotive Industry or assembly related field preferred.
• 3-5 years of assembly manufacturing engineering experience preferred.
• Ability to provide statements of work and manage equipment suppliers.
• Ability to present to customers and maintain composure in challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Develop manufacturing processes for new product/programs. Establish process flow and estimate labor requirements.
• Establish production floor layouts promoting lean manufacturing and space efficiency.
• Coordinate launches of new programs and audit manufacturing effectiveness and quality.
• Represent Magna Exteriors at assembly plants and vendor shops for problem evaluation and validation.
• Investigate process problems using 8D or similar methodologies and lead improvement teams.
• Plan and coordinate new line equipment installation and relocation, including building additions.
• Mentor entry-level Assembly Manufacturing Engineers and oversee team tasks.
• Provide engineering assistance for capital expenditures and project management for line installations.
