Job summary
Albertsons Companies is seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Mechanic to support automated distribution center operations in Brea, CA. You will maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve conveyor systems, automation equipment, and facility infrastructure to maximize uptime and safety.
The role requires hands-on experience with Dematic automation systems, PLCs, and electrical/electronic controls, plus the ability to work varied shifts and lift up to 75 pounds in a temperature-controlled
Qualifications
- Minimum two years of industrial maintenance experience in distribution, manufacturing, or warehousing.
- Hands-on experience with Dematic automation systems, conveyor and sortation equipment.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including three-phase motor controls, PLCs, VFDs, sensors, relays, and control circuits.
- Experience diagnosing mechanical power transmission components like chains, belts, gearboxes, bearings, rollers, and motors.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and their maintenance.
- Able to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, manuals, blueprints, and mechanical drawings.
- Experience with root cause analysis and corrective actions to prevent failures.
- Familiar with HVAC, refrigeration, and general building maintenance in a facility setting.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on conveyors and automation equipment.
- Troubleshoot Dematic systems, motors, drives, sensors, and controls.
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic failures in equipment.
- Repair PLC-controlled equipment and HMI interfaces.
- Inspect dock equipment, doors, and facility systems daily.
- Complete major overhauls and system upgrades as needed.
- Fabricate and install components to improve reliability and performance.
- Maintain repair records and maintenance work orders.
- Support HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance.
- Follow safety policies to maintain a safe workplace.
