Job summary
Adient seeks an Automation Applications Engineer to lead the installation and launch of automation projects in our assembly plants in Plymouth, MI. You will coordinate with plant technical teams, central automation, and external vendors to ensure safe, on‑schedule deployment of robot cells, automated equipment, and controls systems.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related technical field; equivalent experience accepted.
- Minimum 5 years in manufacturing automation, installation, or controls engineering; automotive interiors/assembly preferred.
- Proven experience leading automation projects from planning through plant handoff.
Responsibilities
- Lead installation and launch of automation projects in assembly plants, including robot cells and test systems.
- Coordinate activities among plant teams, central automation, vendors, and IT.
- Develop installation timelines, resource plans, and escalation plans for successful execution.
- Ensure compliance to equipment and process standards across design, validation, and run‑off stages.
- Provide hands‑on support during installation, debugging, commissioning, and early production.
- Identify and develop automation equipment suppliers and installation partners; manage supplier performance.
