Adient Riverside, MO seeks an Automation Engineer to lead plant‑level automation initiatives, from standards to lifecycle management, ensuring safe, standardized, and production‑ready systems before transfer to operations.

You will drive capital planning, ROI analyses, and cross‑functional collaboration while maintaining launch readiness and aligning with safety, quality, and reliability goals across the facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, industrial, manufacturing, mechatronics, controls or related engineering discipline.
• Seven+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing automation, controls engineering, systems integration, or advanced manufacturing engineering.
• Experience leading automation capital projects valued at $500,000+ including scope, supplier mgmt, schedule, and acceptance.

Responsibilities

• Define, maintain, and enforce plant automation standards and design specifications.
• Review and approve automation concepts, software architectures, and safety solutions.
• Lead automation capital planning and execution, including ROI analysis and budgets.
• Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to deliver compliant, production-ready systems.
• Establish launch-readiness criteria and verify safety, quality, and uptime before production release.
• Monitor performance using OEE, MTBF, downtime, and throughput; drive corrective actions.
