Job summary

Associated Bank is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer focused on automation to design, implement, and optimize enterprise network infrastructure across branch, data center, and cloud environments. The role requires strong scripting and Network as Code skills to improve reliability, security, and operational efficiency.

You will collaborate with cybersecurity, systems, cloud, and application teams and maintain runbooks and documentation in Confluence, using Jira for tasks and change management.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in IT/CS/Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering or infrastructure operations.
• Strong networking fundamentals and protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, routing and switching.
• Hands-on experience with network automation and scripting using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or Ansible.
• Experience with IaC and Network as Code; Terraform and API integrations for automation.
• Experience using GitHub or similar version control for infrastructure/automation code.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, maintain, and support enterprise network infrastructure across branch, campus, data center, and cloud environments.
• Develop and maintain network automation solutions using Ansible, Python, Bash, Terraform, PowerShell, NaC, and GitHub workflows.
• Build reusable scripts, playbooks, workflows, and automation pipelines for provisioning, config management, and compliance.
• Integrate network systems and tools through APIs and automation frameworks.
• Configure and optimize routing, switching, firewall, and wireless infrastructure.
• Monitor performance and availability; proactively resolve issues to maintain operations.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and optimization for high availability and performance.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, systems engineering, cloud, and applications teams; maintain runbooks in Confluence.
• Utilize Jira to manage tasks, changes, and sprint activities; support change management and disaster recovery.
• Ensure adherence to banking security, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
