Job summary

Applied Controls, a SunSource company, seeks an Automation Outside Sales Account Manager to grow business across the Pittsburgh, PA territory. In this consultative role, you will partner with OEMs and manufacturers to deliver automation solutions that improve productivity, efficiency, reliability, and safety.

This field-based position emphasizes relationship-building, collaboration with automation specialists and inside sales, and travel throughout the territory.

Qualifications

• 3+ years outside sales experience in industrial automation or similar.
• Proven ability to grow accounts and manage a territory.
• Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Experience evaluating applications and recommending solutions with technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Grow sales and profitability by expanding existing accounts and developing new opportunities.
• Build strong customer relationships and act as trusted advisor for automation products and services.
• Achieve sales and gross profit objectives through consultative selling.
• Travel throughout the territory to develop opportunities and strengthen relationships.
• Collaborate with product specialists, inside sales, and suppliers to close business.
• Develop and execute territory sales plans while monitoring market trends and competition.
• Maintain activity, pipeline, and forecasting in the CRM system.
• Participate in sales and manufacturer training to strengthen product knowledge.
