Job summary

Kelly is seeking an Automation Equipment Builder in Bradenton, FL to assemble, debug, and commission custom automation and packaging machinery from start to finish. You will build electrical panels, wire systems, and assemble frames while following company standards.

The role requires reading 2D/3D drawings and schematics, troubleshooting, and performing fabrication tasks. You may mentor teammates and contribute to design reviews, with a first shift from 7am to 4pm and benefits included.

Qualifications

  • 4 years of experience in custom automation/machine-building OR 10 years of hands-on manufacturing experience.
  • Independently assemble complex machinery mechanically and electrically from start to finish.
  • Read and interpret 2D/3D drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Handle hand tools and power tools; use job-specific testing equipment.
  • Fabrication skills: manual mill/lathe, welding, plasma cutting.
  • Detail-oriented with a track record of high quality work.
  • Communicate effectively with leads, engineers and management.
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, company software).
  • Familiarity with PLC-based control systems and ladder logic is preferred.
  • Hold relevant technical certification.

Responsibilities

  • Independently assembling, debugging, and commissioning custom automation and packaging machinery from start to finish.
  • Building electrical panels, performing full field wiring, and assembling mechanical stations and frames.
  • Reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and schematics; providing feedback to engineering teams.
  • Assembling pneumatic, hydraulic, and motion control sub-assemblies including servo systems and VFDs.
  • Leading debug efforts, troubleshooting, and resolving issues.
  • Interfacing with PLC/control systems and coordinating with controls engineers.
  • Performing fabrication tasks such as milling, welding, and plasma cutting.
  • Participating in design reviews and mentoring junior team members.
