Job summary

GABLETEK in Novi, MI is seeking an experienced Machine Builder to join our automation team on a long-term contract. You will assemble, install, and align custom automation equipment, reading mechanical drawings and coordinating with electricians and controls engineers.

Day and night shifts are available, with overtime opportunities and weekly pay. This role offers consistent hours and stability with a leading automation integrator.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience building custom automation equipment, machine tools, or assembly systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and assembly drawings.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, torque tools, and precision measuring equipment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be dependable, safety-focused, and quality-oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble custom automation machinery from engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Install mechanical components including conveyors, fixtures, tooling, and robotic equipment.
  • Read and interpret mechanical assembly drawings and layout prints.
  • Perform precision machine alignment, leveling, and mechanical adjustments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during machine build and commissioning.
  • Assist with equipment tear-down, installation, modifications, and startup activities.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and lifting equipment safely.
  • Work closely with electricians, controls engineers, and project teams to complete machine builds on schedule.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment while following all customer safety procedures.

Machine Builder – Automation
Location: Novi, MI
Schedule: Days & Nights Available

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Machine Builders to join our team. This is a long-term contract opportunity with openings available on both day and night shifts. Candidates will be responsible for the mechanical assembly, installation, and build of custom automation equipment and production systems.

This is an excellent opportunity to work with a leading automation integrator on cutting-edge manufacturing projects with consistent hours and long-term stability.
