Job summary

Mentor Technical Group in the United States seeks an Automation Engineer to support OT and IT systems on the packaging line, resolving incidents quickly and documenting RCA findings.

You will work in rotating shifts, interfacing with ServiceNow, collecting data, updating technical docs, and ensuring SLOs with rapid responses and high data quality. Experience with PLCs, HMIs, and vision systems is preferred with multiple control platforms.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Automation Engineer supporting packaging equipment.
• Experience troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs and vision systems.
• Familiar with US/European control platforms (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider Electric, ABB, Beckhoff, B&R).
• Willingness to work rotating shifts including overnight hours.
• Ability to operate in a structured ServiceNow environment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve on-site incidents escalated via the Call Log (Level 1 support).
• Collect data and provide technical support for Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
• Create and update technical documentation and Knowledge Base articles.
• Document all Level 1 troubleshooting activities before escalation.
• Meet SLOs, including <15 min response time and >90% data quality for call closures.
