Job summary

Amazon in Forney, TX is hiring an Automation Engineer to maximize equipment reliability in fulfillment centers, troubleshoot PLCs and SCADA, and drive continuous improvement of material handling equipment systems.

You will work with conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, cameras, print and apply systems, and SCADA devices, delivering speed and accuracy for customer orders. Competitive benefits start on Day 1 and include parental leave support.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or 2+ years PLC programming or automation engineering experience.
Flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.
Experience with PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis in production environments.
Robotics work cells and control systems experience.
Experience with Ladder Logic and structure programming from Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Codesys PLCs.

Responsibilities

Maintain automation systems critical to operations at the site.
Troubleshoot material handling control systems and industrial networks.
Monitor MHE metrics and collaborate with maintenance/operations on performance issues.
Provide first-level escalation support for site technicians, locally and remotely.
Perform and analyze building system assessments to improve material handling performance.
