Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking an Automation Engineer to maximize equipment reliability and operational performance in our fulfillment centers, focusing on proactive controls automation, troubleshooting complex PLC-controlled systems, and driving continuous improvement across MHE.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize conveyors, sortation, scanners, and SCADA devices, and work with state-of-the-art technology to ensure fast, accurate order fulfillment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, automation engineering, or equivalent.
• 2+ years of PLC programming or automation engineering experience.
• 2+ years of process or production environment PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis experience.
• 2+ years of robotics work cells and control systems experience.
• 2+ years of electrical theory, robotics, controls components, and automated equipment experience.
• 2+ years of Ladder Logic and structured programming from Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Codesys PLCs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain automation systems critical for operations as site expert.
• Understand, maintain and troubleshoot material handling control systems and networks.
• Monitor MHE metrics and address performance issues with maintenance/ops.
• Provide first-level escalation support for site technicians, locally and remotely.
• Perform and analyze Building System Assessments to enhance performance.
