Job summary

Marotta Controls is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer, Motor Design in Chaska, MN to design and optimize electric motors meeting stringent aerospace and defense requirements. The role covers winding, insulation, magnets, sensors, and verification through testing and validation.

You will interact with engineers, program management, procurement, and suppliers, driving cost, weight, and performance tradeoffs across the motor system.

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, assemble, and test electromagnetic motor topologies for aerospace/defense applications.
• Develop breakthrough motor technologies to win in served markets.
• Select materials and apply GD&T to optimize manufacturability and cost.
• Apply electromagnetic analysis (FEM, simulation) to improve performance.
• Collaborate with actuation/test engineering to drive new programs.
