Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions (ACS) is seeking an Automation Engineer to join the Cable Backplane Systems team in Valley Green, PA. The role focuses on developing concepts, designing and validating automated tools, and deploying high-volume manufacturing solutions for high-speed interconnect systems.

Ideal candidates have an MS or BS in Mechanical or Robotic Engineering with strong automation, PLC, and electrical control experience, plus solid modeling skills (Creo).

Qualifications

• Requires MS or BS in Mechanical or Robotic Engineering with substantial experience.
• Experience with automation, PLCs, and electrical controls is essential.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management skills are required.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical people are important.

Responsibilities

• Develop concepts and write scope of work documents.
• Design, test, deploy tooling and validate automated systems.
• Collaborate with external suppliers and manufacturers on prototypes and production deployment.
• Support development, fabrication, and build of prototypes and pilot production.
• Apply machining and design experience to automation projects.
