Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions (ACS) in Valley Green, PA, seeks experienced Mechanical Engineers to join the Cable Backplane Product Development team. This role focuses on precision engineering, blending electrical and mechanical knowledge to develop and maintain mechanisms for high-speed backplanes.

The responsibilities include designing float mechanisms and cartridges, coordinating with internal manufacturing and external vendors, and ensuring robust performance across lifecycle stages.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering with emphasis on precision engineering preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in CAD software (Creo).
• 3+ years of design experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with cross-functional collaboration.
• Good understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and FEA tools.

Responsibilities

• Understand and adapt to evolving industry needs and product requirements.
• Collaborate with NPI and Machine Design teams for high-volume production.
• Support electrical performance via mechanical design with the Signal Integrity team.
• Ensure designs meet high reliability and quality standards.
• Collaborate with software engineers to integrate electronic controls.
• Assist in material selection (metals, plastics, coatings).
• Develop initial product specs and technical documentation.
• Interface with customers across project phases and support sales.
