Job summary

CrowdStrike is seeking an Automation Engineer on the Engineering Systems team to automate and scale build, test, signing, and deployment processes for our cloud-based software. You will design and maintain code signing frameworks and certificate lifecycles, and contribute to secure, scalable build pipelines.

You will work with cross-functional teams worldwide, handle on-call duties, and help push our AI-enabled tooling to streamline workflows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering or DevOps/build engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation.
• Deep knowledge of encryption/PKI concepts as they relate to code signing.
• Experience writing Groovy for Jenkins pipeline development (Jenkinsfiles, shared libraries).
• Proven capabilities operating, administering, and troubleshooting CI/CD platforms (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab).
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with configuration tools such as Ansible, Chef, and/or Salt.
• Experience automating virtualization environments (e.g. VMWare).
• Familiarity with public cloud APIs (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Familiarity with build/release engineering and software development lifecycles.
• Ability to work collaboratively with development teams to support and improve build/release processes.
• Collaborate effectively with global, cross-functional teams across multiple time zones.
• Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to make timely decisions.
• Self-learning and initiative in fast-paced environments.
• Security-minded with cybersecurity principles.
• Experience leveraging AI to enhance decision-making and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Manage code signing for binaries across Windows, Linux, and Mac platforms.
• Manage certificate lifecycles including issuance, renewal, and revocation.
• Design and maintain encryption, certificate, and code signing frameworks and tooling.
• Identify opportunities to improve operation of existing systems.
• Drive end-to-end improvements from design to delivered product for internal customers.
• Produce clear, maintainable code with minimal oversight.
• Provide documentation for users of created tools.
• Perform code reviews.
• Handle on-call build engineer tasks such as plan/pipeline changes and troubleshooting.
• Troubleshoot build, packaging, and deployment failures.
• Serve on an on-call rotation and support remote work.
