Job summary
Salm in Denmark, WI is seeking an Automation and Controls Technician to provide electrical and controls support for maintenance, installation, troubleshooting and repair of production and facility equipment, while complying with safety, food safety, quality, SQF, GMP and USDA standards.
The role requires experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, RSLogix/RSNetworx, Devicenet, PLCs, and HMI programming (ladder logic and structured text).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred; or 7+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Experience with Allen Bradley RSLogix, RSNetworx, Devicenet, PLCs, power systems, and AC drives.
- Must know ladder logic, structured text, and scripted text programming.
- Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge; ability to prioritize and work independently.
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced technical support to maintenance and operations teams.
- Program, troubleshoot, and repair PLCs and industrial control circuits.
- Monitor software versions and perform upgrades.
- Maintain PLC and HMI program backups and versions.
- Update electrical prints and schematics for equipment.
- Support cost-saving maintenance initiatives.
- Provide technical training to Maintenance Technicians.
- Assist with new equipment evaluation and integration.
- Follow Lockout/Tagout procedures.
- Provide after-hours support.
