Job summary

The University Of Nebraska Omaha seeks a Facilities Technician to install, operate and maintain Energy Management & Controls Systems (EMCS) across campus buildings, monitoring environmental conditions and ensuring system reliability. The role requires working knowledge of HVAC controls, sensors, and building automation fundamentals.

You will perform preventative maintenance, respond to alarm and service calls, and work with contractors on new construction EMCS installations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• At least one year of experience with HVAC automated controls installation/diagnostics/repairs.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Preferred: associate’s degree in HVAC Systems Technology or Electronics Technology.

Responsibilities

• Respond to campus HVAC issues and hot & cold calls.
• Monitor the Tridium front-end system for anomalies.
• Diagnose AHUs and VFD problems and perform repairs.
• Assist with operation and repair of campus HVAC systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance on control systems.
• Coordinate with outside contractors for EMCS installation and commissioning.

Position Summary

Perform installation, operation and maintenance of the Energy Management & Controls Systems ( EMCS ) for the purpose of monitoring and controlling the environmental conditions in buildings on campus. This position requires good working knowledge of HVAC systems and control devices and the ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision. This position should understand control theory and how it applies to building HVAC systems.

Responsibility Area: "Hot & Cold" Calls

Duties:

Respond to “Hot & Cold” calls from the campus community. Repair pneumatic and DDC VAV box controls with assistance. Calibrate and replace pneumatic T-stats and other miscellaneous pneumatic equipment.
