Hubbell Incorporated in Shelton, CT, is seeking an Automation/Controls Technician to help build and test custom automation equipment. You will work with engineers to interpret designs, assemble, wire, plumb, test run, troubleshoot, and repair automated systems using robots and high-tech components.

The role involves hands-on machining, assembly, wiring, and calibration, with opportunities to attend training in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC/robot programming to expand skills.

Formación

• Five or more years’ experience in a mechanic/manufacturing/machinist environment and/or training.
• Hands-on skills from working on cars, farms or homes are a strong bonus.
• AS in engineering/technology would also be a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Work alongside automation engineers and technicians to interpret designs and help bring designs to life; study SolidWorks drawings and models to build automation equipment.
• Manage projects by organizing incoming materials and planning layouts; verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances.
• Wire and plumb machines under guidance; set up and troubleshoot basic automation electronics (sensors, VFDs).
• Set up machine tools (lathes, milling, welding) to machine or fabricate parts and verify conformance to specs.
• Attend training to expand knowledge of programming languages and machine maintenance (Electrical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, PLC/Robot coding).
