Job summary

Hubbell Incorporated is seeking an Automation/Controls Technician to join our team in building and maintaining custom automation equipment. You’ll work with engineers to interpret designs, assemble, wire, plumb, test run, troubleshoot and repair equipment featuring robots, sensors, VFDs and PLCs.

We value hands-on experience in mechanics and manufacturing. Training is provided to expand knowledge in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and robotic programming areas as needed.

Qualifications

• Five or more years’ experience in a mechanic/manufacturing/machinist environment or equivalent education/experience.
• Hands-on skills likely learned from repairing equipment, machining or fabrication.
• Willingness to attend training to expand knowledge in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC and robotics.
• AS in engineering/technology would be a plus.

Responsibilities

• Interpret designs and bring concepts to life with engineers and technicians.
• Organize and manage materials and projects; verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances.
• Lift, position, and secure machine parts; assemble components into assemblies.
• Wire and plumb machines under guidance; troubleshoot basic automation electronics (sensors, VFDs).
• Set up and operate machine tools (lathe, milling, welding) to machine or fabricate parts.
