Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced Automation and Controls Specialist to design, program, and commission control systems for Water/Wastewater clients in the Northeast region. You will develop P&IDs, control descriptions, and PDRs, while mentoring junior staff and building client relationships.

The role involves programming SCADA systems (Rockwell Studio 5000, Schneider Unity, GE iFix, Rockwell FactoryTalk, AVEVA InTouch), configuring networks, and creating SCADA reports.

Qualifications

• 7 years of related experience.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• A valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop automation project solutions with senior oversight.
• Program, test, and commission SCADA systems using PLC/HMI packages.
• Configure SCADA servers, workstations, networks, and wireless systems.
• Develop SCADA reports using Dream Reports, XL Reporter, or Hach WIMS.
• Review basic to moderately complex control system shop drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Prepare PIDs, control system architectures, and control descriptions.
• Prepare automation project budgets and construction cost estimates.
• Travel to project sites for client meetings and start-up of control systems.
