Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Automation and Controls Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain critical power, HVAC, and utility automation for Starbase. You will develop PLC, HMI, and SCADA solutions, lead projects with cross-functional teams, and ensure safety and reliability across high-rate production and launch environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or another engineering discipline.
• 1+ years of experience designing, analyzing, and working on automation and control systems (internship and school projects qualify).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, operate, and maintain automation and control systems for ground infrastructure and utility systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams; lead projects; drive rapid improvements at Starbase.
• Manage control and automation upgrades to scale systems for Starship production rate targets.
• Develop and deploy standardized automation for critical power and utility systems.
• Maintain documentation for Starbase SCADA systems.
• Design, develop, and manage automation projects from initial trades to training.
• Design and commission PLC, HMI, and SCADA apps in a high-reliability environment.
• Create electrical schematics using EPLAN, AutoCAD, etc.; ensure NFPA/NEC/UL compliance.
