Job summary

Aegis Worldwide is seeking aControls Engineer in Jefferson City, Tennessee to lead PLC-driven automation initiatives and support robotics and electrical control systems. You will troubleshoot, optimize, and upgrade automation assets while collaborating with maintenance and operations teams to improve reliability.

The role requires hands-on experience with PLC platforms, robotics, and industrial networking, and the ability to document systems with AutoCAD drawings for safe and efficient operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of PLC programming from scratch in an industrial environment.
• Experience with VFDs, motor controls, industrial networks, and automation systems.
• Kuka, Fanuc, or ABB robotics experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary resource for PLCs, automation systems, robotics, and electrical controls.
• Troubleshoot, modify, and optimize PLC programs on Parker, Siemens, and Allen-Bradley platforms.
• Support robotic systems, VFDs, motor controls, and industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, Profibus, Modbus).
• Lead equipment upgrades, startups, automation projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with maintenance/operations for root cause analysis and CMMS documentation.
• Create/update electrical drawings and control schematics using AutoCAD.
