Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to design, implement, and maintain PLC/HMI/SCADA systems across manufacturing processes in Groton, CT. You will collaborate with operations, engineering, and capital projects to upgrade equipment, troubleshoot issues, and improve productivity with safe, reliable controls.

The role requires strong ladder logic, Rockwell/Studio 5000 experience, and familiarity with Ignition SCADA and industrial networks. Relocation is authorized.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in engineering field; electrical preferred.
• 3+ years of controls experience preferred.
• Experience with industrial robots (FANUC and Kawasaki preferred).
• Ability to read/write electrical schematics; field experience preferred.
• Strong PLC ladder logic and control systems knowledge (Allen Bradley platforms preferred).
• Experience with PLC programming. Rockwell Studio 5000 preferred.
• Experience with SCADA integration (Ignition a plus).
• DB data persistence with Oracle/SQL Server a plus.
• Ability to diagnose complex electrical problems and document solutions.
• Control Systems competency; electrical code knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, modify, maintain and support PLC, HMI, SCADA and industrial control systems.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering and plant staff to upgrade systems and troubleshoot issues.
• Respond to production issues with rapid diagnosis and corrective actions.
• Analyze production data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Specify/integrate sensors, drives, instrumentation for process control.
• Develop equipment specifications, performance requirements and cost analyses.
• Assist with installation/commissioning of new equipment per specifications.
• Maintain electrical schematics and controls documentation.
• Document equipment details, parameters, and preventive maintenance procedures.
• Configure/maintain industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Modbus).
