Job summary

Contec Inc seeks an Electrical/Automation Controls Engineer to support design, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of manufacturing process equipment and facility controls. You will automate production lines, develop PLC/HMI applications, and ensure safety and quality standards compliance.

You should have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science and at least five years of related experience, plus knowledge of RSLogix 5000, PLCs, motion controls, and HMI design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science and 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with PLCs and motion controls, programming and architecture, Industrial HMI design (Allen Bradley, Red Lion, etc.), machine level troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of RSLOGIX 5000.
• Experience with robotics, vision systems, barcode systems, RFID systems, and Schneider Electric systems (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Applies standard engineering techniques to designing, developing, and maintaining instrumentation, equipment, and facility controls systems.
• Automates manufacturing process equipment using controls systems for lean improvements (Jidoka, Andon, OEE, etc.).
• Develops and modifies PLC or HMI applications, interfaces, or embedded controls.
• Assists in commissioning of new production/facility equipment and troubleshooting control systems.
