Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking an Automation Engineer to join CBRE Global Workplace Solutions. You will work on automated material handling equipment, PLCs, and SCADA systems to maximize reliability and performance.

The role emphasizes safety, problem solving, and collaboration with operations and maintenance teams. A strong background in control systems and robotics helps drive continuous improvement across client sites.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree preferred with 2–5 years of relevant experience.
Experience in at least two engineering design cycles including specification, component selection and programming.
2+ years of experience with PLC programs.
2+ years of experience with robotics system components and controls.
2+ years of experience with SCADA systems.

Responsibilities

Promote safe working environment and compliance with codes and regulations.
Troubleshoot and modify software for material handling control systems (PLC/PC).
Serve as first-level escalation for on-site and remote support, including after-hours.
Inspect systems to ensure equipment operates within design specs and client requirements.
Oversee development scope, work requests, scheduling, and contractor inspections.
Engineer process solutions and reliability improvements from concept to implementation.
Monitor networks (Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus, AS-I) and motor control systems.
Communicate with leadership and maintenance teams on timelines and impacts.
