Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors is seeking an automation engineer to perform routine design tasks for DCS/PLC/HMI/SIS systems, with potential to lead smaller projects under supervision. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, reviewing vendor drawings, and performing field data collection to support design deliverables.

The ideal candidate has 1 year of industrial experience in controls and automation and holds an Engineering degree with EIT certification, PE preferred as

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering required.
• EIT registration required; PE preferred upon eligibility.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant industrial experience in controls and automation engineering.

Responsibilities

• Recognize and communicate scope and design changes promptly.
• Provide on-site assistance during startup.
• Guide less experienced engineers in the department.
• Coordinate work with staff and office leaders.
• Create control system installation specifications.
• Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies for small projects.
• Configure control systems emphasizing maintainability and client needs.
• Consult with design leaders to ensure information flow for timely completion.
• Review vendor and other discipline drawings for Controls & Automation.
• Perform fieldwork to gather field data and retrieve existing configurations.
