Job summary

Hargrove Controls + Automation seeks a controls engineer to perform routine design for DCS/PLC/HMI/SIS projects, with potential to lead smaller automation efforts. You will work under supervision, develop installation specs, and provide on-site startup support while coordinating with multiple disciplines.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor or master in engineering, possess EIT, and have 1 year of industrial automation experience. CAD skills and field data collection are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering from an accredited university.
• EIT registration is required; PE preferred upon eligibility.
• 1 year of relevant industrial controls/automation experience.
• Knowledge of ISA S88, IEC 61131, ISA S84, and OSHA 1910.119 is required.
• Experience with DCS/PLC/HMI/SIS systems (various vendors) is highly desirable.
• Ability to read PFDs, P&IDs and instrument loop sheets; basic CAD skills.

Responsibilities

• Design routine control system concepts for DCS/PLC/HMI/SIS projects under supervision.
• Lead smaller automation projects or assist on larger ones; coordinate with staff and office leaders.
• Produce control system installation specifications and cost studies for small projects.
• Configure systems with maintainability and client requirements in mind.
• Provide on-site startup support and field data collection.
• Review vendor and discipline drawings for Controls input; ensure information flow to schedule.
