Job summary
Prime Controls L.P. is seeking an Automation Specialist II to design control system details, perform startup and commissioning, configure instrumentation, and lead project workstreams across controls hardware and software.
You will develop PLC programs, create HMI interfaces, and prepare technical documentation. The role involves collaborating with project managers, estimators, and customers to define system functionality, develop templates, and deliver effective control solutions.
Qualifications
- 4 years of experience in architectural, engineering or construction (AEC) industry or similar field.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- 4 years of experience in any PLC programming
- Experience with HVAC systems, ModBUS/BacNET communication setup and troubleshooting
- Rockwell PLCs and Ignition SCADA experience
Responsibilities
- Design of control system details, startup and commissioning.
- Develops PLC programs and HMI; builds templates for projects.
- Develops BOMs, IO lists and requirements for control panels.
- Trains operations and maintenance personnel and reviews documentation.
- Tests installed systems to verify functionality and diagnose issues.
- Mentors junior staff and coordinates with installation team.
