Job summary

BOS Innovations Inc. in Lexington, KY is seeking an Applications Engineering Specialist to bridge Sales and customers, developing automation concepts and professional quotations that win business.

You will review customer requirements, analyze production processes, design mechanical concepts and BOMs, and coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to deliver accurate costing and compelling budgets for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Engineering Technology, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in applications engineering, mechanical design, automation, systems integration, or custom machinery.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks with experience developing mechanical concepts and BOMs for automation projects.
• Strong understanding of industrial automation systems and custom machine design.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills; ability to collaborate with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Follow the sales processes to create quotations and win business for BOS.
• Full review of the application and development of a professionally packaged quotation containing a high-level of detail.
• Analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of customer production processes and develop strategies for enhancing them.
• Review and analyze customer documents, lead site visits/reviews of applications, and review product designs and past BOS history to ensure concepts meet specifications.
• Develop mechanical design concepts and estimated BOMs at cell and station levels.
• Coordinate and communicate with customer technical counterparts to gain understanding of needs and develop relationships with key influencers.
• Identify quoting and process inefficiencies and work with the team to improve output.
• Lead collaboration with BOS engineering when additional support is required to create the best possible concept.
