Job summary

Seaboard Corp. is seeking an Accounting Systems Intern to gain hands-on experience with automation, analytics, and ERP systems in the Corporate Accounting Department.

You will collaborate across divisions, learn to build workflows with UiPath and other tools, and assist with development, testing, and documentation of automated processes. The role emphasizes a blend of accounting knowledge and information technology, with opportunities to engage in business analysis, testing, and production

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting OR Computer Science/Information Systems/Data Science.
• Satisfactory completion of introductory accounting courses and a basic understanding of accounting and financial principles.
• Satisfactory completion of introductory computer science, information systems, or data science courses.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is a must.
• Experience with other Microsoft tools such as SharePoint, Yammer, Teams, Visio, Power BI is desirable.
• Experience with automation tools such as UiPath, Alteryx, Savant, or Power Automate is desirable.
• Experience with any AI coding tools is desirable.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• High level of efficiency, accuracy, and responsibility.
• Motivation and a strong desire to take on new challenges and learn as much as possible.
• Commitment: 8-12 months.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with division personnel, other corporate departments, and external auditors.
• Assist in and learn to use Microsoft SharePoint, Viva Engage, and similar IT tools.
• Handle sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity.
• Become proficient at creating workflows in the Seaboard environment in UiPath, Savant, and other tools.
• Do minor development of automations and changes to existing automations once up to speed on the development cycle.
• Test new automations and help users with testing automations.
• Learn configuration management practices within the Seaboard automation environment and be able to move approved processes into the production environment.
• Review automations run each day. Look for errors and failures and perform top level troubleshooting.
• Write documentation for how automations are used, configured, etc.
• Learn to perform business analysis to document the “human process” and proposed “robot process” for automation requests.
• Take on additional tasks or projects to learn more about accounting and office operations.
