Job summary

Pinnacle Consulting & Recruitment seeks an Accounting Systems & RPA Analyst to bridge the Accounting team with automation partners and identify automation opportunities.

This role analyzes workflows in general ledger, reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting, and translates requirements for RPA developers. It also provides production support for existing RPA solutions and participates in UAT and testing.

Job description

We are seeking an Accounting Systems & RPA Analyst with strong, hands‑on experience supporting Accounting functions and processes. This individual will serve as a key liaison between the Accounting organization and RPA/automation partners, helping identify process pain points, define automation opportunities, troubleshoot existing solutions, and support the development of new automated workflows.

This is not a heads‑down RPA development role. The ideal candidate comes from a strong Accounting or Accounting Systems background and has meaningful experience working with RPA and process automation technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner directly with Accounting teams to understand business processes, identify pain points, and uncover opportunities for automation and process improvement.
• Analyze Accounting workflows across areas such as general ledger, reconciliations, journal entries, month‑end close, financial reporting, AP/AR, and related functions.
• Gather, document, and translate Accounting requirements into clear functional requirements for RPA developers and external automation partners.
• Serve as the primary liaison between Accounting stakeholders and RPA vendors throughout requirements gathering, solution design, testing, implementation, and ongoing support.
• Provide production support for existing RPA solutions, including troubleshooting issues, diagnosing failures, identifying root causes, and coordinating resolutions.
• Participate in UAT and validation of automated Accounting processes to ensure solutions meet business requirements and produce accurate results.
• Evaluate existing Accounting processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, controls, and scalability.
• Help prioritize automation opportunities based on business impact, risk, complexity, and potential efficiency gains.
• Maintain documentation for Accounting processes, automation requirements, workflows, testing, controls, and production support.
• Support broader Accounting systems, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Strong professional experience within Accounting, with a solid understanding of Accounting principles, processes, and controls.
• Hands‑on experience with Accounting processes such as general ledger, reconciliations, journal entries, month‑end close, financial reporting, AP/AR, or similar functions.
• Experience supporting Accounting systems, financial applications, or technology initiatives within an Accounting organization.
• Strong experience with RPA and process automation, including platforms such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Power Automate, or similar technologies.
• Ability to understand RPA workflows, troubleshoot production issues, diagnose failures, and effectively communicate technical issues to RPA developers or vendors.
• Experience gathering requirements and translating Accounting business needs into functional requirements for technical teams.
• Experience with UAT, production support, root cause analysis, process documentation, and issue resolution.
• Strong analytical and process improvement skills with the ability to identify opportunities for automation within Accounting.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge Accounting, Technology, and external vendor teams.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is an Accounting or Financial Systems professional who has developed strong RPA and automation expertise throughout their career. They understand Accounting processes in depth and are capable of identifying where automation can improve those processes.

While technical knowledge of RPA is critical, this position is not intended for a traditional RPA developer. Strong Accounting experience is a core requirement for the role.
