Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
• 5–10 years of automotive warranty analysis or failure analysis.
• Strong understanding of automotive mechanical systems and fundamentals.
• Experience with teardown analysis and diagnostics.
• Ability to read CAD drawings and engineering specs.

Responsibilities

• Perform warranty part analysis and failure investigations for returned components.
• Conduct root cause analysis using 8D, Fishbone, 5 Why, FMEA methods.
• Support disposition activities including teardown, repairability, and containment actions.
• Collaborate with design, supplier quality, manufacturing and service teams on corrective actions.
• Interpret drawings, GD&T, material specs, tolerances and validation reports.
• Use warranty databases and analytics to identify trends and reliability concerns.
• Prepare technical reports and failure summaries for leadership.
• Support supplier discussions and technical reviews for quality improvement.
• Participate in continuous improvement programs for warranty reduction.
• Ensure compliance with APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA.
