Job summary

SB Automotive, located in Gaithersburg, MD, seeks an experienced automotive technician to perform maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles. The position offers $30–$38 per hour based on experience, plus production incentives and a 4.5-day workweek with Fridays half-days and weekends off.

The shop features a climate-controlled facility, paid training, and a 401(k) with company match. Owners Chris and David are ASE Master Certified and actively support diagnostics and skill development.

Qualifications

• 3–4+ years of professional automotive repair experience.
• Experience with diagnostic procedures and vehicle systems.
• Ability to manage repairs efficiently toward billed-hour targets.

Responsibilities

• Perform general automotive maintenance and repairs on domestic, Asian, and European vehicles.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and vehicle performance concerns.
• Complete tire services, wheel alignments, tune-ups, and routine maintenance.
• Repair independently while maintaining quality and turnaround times.
• Use Autel and Matco tools to aid diagnostics.
• Document repair findings with Tekmetric.
• Collaborate with foreman and owners on advanced diagnostics.
• Aim for ~40 billed hours per week while maintaining quality.
