Job summary

DARCARS of Silver Spring is seeking an Automotive Technician / Mechanic. Potential earnings are $30-$50 per hour plus a seniority bonus.

The technician will perform routine repairs, diagnose issues, and handle light engine work, transmissions, electrical systems, HVAC, steering and suspension with some supervision. Requirements include 3+ years of technician experience, basic tools, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of automotive technician experience required.

Responsibilities

• Document all work performed on the repair order.
• Use the multi-point inspection form for each vehicle.
• Communicate with service advisor for additional work or delays.
• Maintain technician proficiency per DARCARS standards.
• Conduct road tests to confirm work completed when needed.
• Perform diagnosis and repair on vehicles; perform preventive maintenance.
• Participate in manufacturer training and CSI improvement efforts.
• Complete warranty repair orders and filing of warranty claims.
• Report safety concerns to management.
• Ensure customer vehicles are returned clean.
