Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking a skilled Technician to professionally inspect, diagnose and repair tire and automotive services while delivering an excellent customer experience. You will explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and coworkers and continually learn new automotive techniques to stay current with evolving technology.

The role includes mentoring colleagues, maintaining a clean and safe workspace, and adhering to all policies, safety and environmental rules.

Qualifications

• What candidates must have: high school diploma or GED
• At least 1 year of automotive diagnostic/repair experience
• 2+ ASE certifications preferred (A4, A5)
• Section 609 certification preferred
• State Inspection license if applicable
• Valid driver’s license
• Pre-employment background check
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications for brakes, hydraulics, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension, and alignment.
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and coworkers.
• Continuously learn new automotive techniques through formal training sessions.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area.
• Keep management informed of repair problems as they occur.
• Adhere to all safety policies and environmental rules.
• Perform duties of lower roles when required.
