Job summary

Pep Boys in Pensacola is seeking a General Service Technician with a mechanical aptitude to perform basic automotive services such as tire mounting/balancing, oil changes, brakes, and inspections while delivering an excellent customer experience.

You will maintain a clean, safe work area, assist fellow technicians, and may advise customers on services. A driver's license, HS diploma, and willingness to work flexible hours are required.

Qualifications

• A valid driver's license is required.
• Passion for a career as an automotive technician.
• Eager to learn and have a competitive drive to succeed.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays and weekends as needed.
• Successful completion of pre-employment background check.

Responsibilities

• Learn how to diagnose and repair basic automotive systems including brakes, alignments, suspensions, cooling and electrical.
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions to stay up-to-date with automotive technology.
• Change engine oil and filter.
• Install and perform tire maintenance.
• Install batteries and check starting/charging systems.
• Install headlights and other small bulbs.
• Repair flat tires.
• Install wiper blades.
• Stock and unload tires.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Keep store management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur.
• Clean and maintain an organized and neat shop.
• Adhere to company policy, procedures, safety and environmental rules.
