Job summary

Pep Boys Inc. is seeking a motivated Automotive Technician in Pensacola, FL. You will learn to diagnose and repair basic automotive systems, perform oil changes, tire maintenance, battery checks, and install lights.

You will work with a team to keep the shop organized and comply with safety policies. Candidates should be at least 18, have a high school diploma or GED, possess a valid driver’s license, and be willing to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays and weekends as needed.
• Successful completion of pre-employment background check.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Learn to diagnose and repair basic automotive systems including brakes, alignments, suspensions, cooling and electrical.
• Attend formal training sessions to stay current with automotive technology.
• Change engine oil and filter.
• Install and perform tire maintenance.
• Install batteries and check starting/charging systems.
• Install headlights and other small bulbs.
• Repair flat tires.
• Stock and unload tires.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Keep store management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur.
• Keep the shop organized and clean.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, safety and environmental rules.
