Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking a General Service Technician to perform basic automotive services including tire mounting and balancing, oil changes, and vehicle inspections while delivering outstanding customer service.

You will work in the tire and service department, maintain a clean work area, and may advise customers on suggested services. The role requires a valid driver's license and a commitment to safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Willingness to work days, nights, holidays and weekends.
• Passion to build a career as an automotive technician.
• Pre-employment background check required.

Responsibilities

• Learn to diagnose and repair basic automotive systems such as brakes, alignments, suspensions, cooling and electrical.
• Continuously learn new technical information in formal training sessions.
• Change engine oil and filter.
• Install and perform tire maintenance.
• Install batteries and check starting/charging systems.
• Install headlights and other small bulbs.
• Repair flat tires.
• Install wiper blades.
• Stock and unload tires.
• Assist fellow technicians in technical activities.
• Keep store management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain a clean and organized shop.
• Adhere to company policy, safety and environmental rules.
