Job summary

Pep Boys in Sarasota, FL is seeking a General Service Technician with mechanical aptitude to perform basic automotive services, including mounting and balancing tires, oil changes, and vehicle inspections, while delivering excellent customer service. You will maintain a clean, safe work area in the tire and service department, provide advice on services, and help customers understand necessary repairs.

Must be 18+, HS diploma or GED, valid driver's license, and able to work days, nights,

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Passion for a career as an automotive technician.
• Eager to learn with a competitive drive to succeed.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed.
• Successful completion of pre-employment background check.

Responsibilities

• Learn to diagnose and repair basic automotive systems including brakes, alignments, suspensions, cooling and electrical.
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training.
• Change engine oil and filter.
• Install and perform tire maintenance and balancing.
• Install batteries and check starting/charging systems.
• Install headlights and other bulbs.
• Repair flat tires.
• Install wiper blades.
• Stock and unload tires.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Keep management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain a clean and organized shop.
• Adhere to company policies, safety, and environmental rules.
